Baby Björn Kitchen Products:: Review and GIVEAWAY!

When I heard that Baby Björn has a new line of Kitchen Products, I thought back to one snowy day in the winter of 2014.

I was on maternity leave, my mother had headed home to Kansas, my husband was back at work, it had been snowing for days, and I was cooped up in the house with a tiny human who wanted to be fed, changed, held, or some combination of the three – AT ALL TIMES. Matt came home to find me sitting in the same chair I was sitting in when he left that morning, wearing the same clothes as the day before – I had barely moved all day. Yes, I had kept a tiny human alive – but I don’t think I’d eaten or even brushed my hair. This is a big deal for someone who is rarely seen without makeup; I was in rough shape.

“I haven’t put this baby down ALL DAY,” I had practically shouted at him {obviously exhausted, hungry, and in need of a shower}. He took one look at my bedraggled mess and casually asked, “Don’t we have a Baby Björn?”

I could’ve thrown something at him. Mostly because I couldn’t believe he hadn’t reminded me of this sooner. That day was a turning point for me. The magical Baby Björn carrier – it was the instant answer to a fussy little one. He could nap and snuggle while I accomplished any number of things – tooth brushing, dishwasher emptying, ordering diapers online – I was free!

So, when I heard about the Baby Björn kitchen products I thought, “Well, they made a carrier that saved my sanity, let’s see what this stuff can do.”

The High Chair:

I unpacked and assembled the high chair in three minutes. THREE MINUTES. Remove seat/tray combination piece from box and attach legs – no tools, no parts, this chair makes blocks seem complicated! I love the design, the durable plastic, and how easy it is to clean. The best part though – my son enjoys sitting in it – completely upright and comfortable. There’s no screaming, there’s no crying, he actually drags it into the kitchen when I’m cooking because he wants to be in the chair. I should also mention how lightweight it is, and the fact that it folds to a width of ten inches!

The Open Cup:

As your baby grows into a toddler, the time comes when they’re ready to ban the bottle, shun the sippy, and drink out of an open cup. Yes, I said an “open cup” — as in a cup with no lid, a cup begging for my son to cover himself, the floor, the walls, the dog, and me in a spray of whatever beverage he was enjoying {or not enjoying and thus flinging across the kitchen}. Taking the lid off the cup filled with anything more than an ounce of water seemed like a REALLY bad idea.

I’m here to say, “I was wrong!” This cup was an amazing idea – and my little guy absolutely loves his big boy cups! The quality of this is exactly what you’d expect from Baby Björn – it’s stable with a wide and sturdy base, and it’s especially designed to make it easy for little hands to pick up. I can proudly say that my son has yet to accidentally spill his drink from one of these cups. {On purpose is another story.} I love these cups enough that I’m actually ordering them for some friends who have little ones. {Yes, they’re that awesome!}

The Soft Bib:

While my son has never accidentally toppled his new big boy cups, he does occasionally miss his mouth while drinking or eating. {By occasionally, I mean there’s a 50/50 chance that what he tries to consume isn’t making it to the destination.}

Enter: the Baby Björn Soft Bib.

The bib has a deep spill pocket, that catches what his mouth cannot, and is the end of having to do a complete wardrobe change after meals. For my son – the amazing spill pocket that keeps him clean also serves as a great place to pour syrup for dipping French Toast – seriously. He wears it without trying to yank it off, as the adjustable neck doesn’t seem to bother him. What doesn’t bother me is that the durable plastic material can be wiped out or even put through the dishwasher.

All in all, I have to say I love these new kitchen products, they meet and exceed all my expectations for the safety, quality, and style that I’ve come to expect from Baby Björn. I will never again forget about the Björn – not when an infant is fussy, or a toddler is hungry – regardless of whether or not I’ve had a chance to brush my hair.
