Summer in Denver would not be complete without food trucks. These rolling restaurants keep every event spontaneous and exciting! Here’s a few upcoming family friendly markets and food truck parks that feature a divine line up.

1. The Big Wonderful

26th & Lawrence | Saturdays Noon – 7:30pm

The Big Wonderful is an outdoor flea/food truck market promoting a sustainable and connected community. As you browse the local vendors, enjoy hand-grown cocktails and listen to live music you’ll be reminded of why you love living in laid-back Denver. While it’s open at noon, I would recommend bringing the kids later in the afternoon or early evening so you can avoid hearing complaints about the heat really enjoy the most beautiful time of the day. The can kids dig around in the giant sand box, play with hula hoops and run amuck while you all sip and snack on deliciousness! Not to mention, the views of the sky and the city are spectacular. From covered tables, to the big (yellow) “wonderful” sign, to a dog run area; this market has really got everything going for it. Check out the website for more details and other food truck markets going on this summer.

Civic Center EATS!

Civic Center Park | Tuesday/Thursday 11 am – 2 pm

from May 7 through October 8, 2015 (excluding June 4, September 3 and 8)

Get downtown and enjoy a slice of city living. The food trucks line in the middle of Civic Center Park by 11:00 am. If you’re bringing kids along, you may want to consider arriving early to make everything easier. It’s street parking only and remember to bring ice water along for everyone. The kids get hot while they’re waiting for their food. Covered tables are available, but also easier to get if you’re early. Another option is to bring a picnic blanket along, and move out toward the grass away from the heat of the pavement and trucks. Click here to see this year’s yummy vendor list.

4. Food Truck Row

Food Truck Row is a traveling market of some of the best local eats in the metro area. They host lots of great food truck line ups on their event calendar, and can be found at various locations around the metro area, throughout the week! In addition to Civic Center EATS, here are a few more worth noting.

  • Whole Foods Market Capitol Hill 900 E. 11th Ave. | 5-8 pm each 1st Wednesday June- September
  • First Friday Art Walk 7th Avenue between Santa Fe and Kalamath | 6:00pm-11:oopm each first Friday of the month
