My husband and I are both foodies, but with two small boys, we don’t get out very often.
We head to the gym one night a week for a quick workout, but that’s not exactly what you might call romantic. Even if we do make it out for dinner, it’s usually with two tiny humans, so we’re looking for something quick and loud. When we go out for dates I love to explore places that we wouldn’t usually try with the boys in tow, so I’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite places to go sans kiddos.
On the menu today are some of the best foodie spots we’ve found around Denver. Eat your way through a day date with that special someone, or grab a mom friend and send the kiddos off with dad for a bit!
Brunch
My favorite meal is brunch, hands down. There are a lot of great brunch places in Denver, but one of my recent faves is Beast & Bottle. They work with local farmers & ranchers to source the best ingredients, and their menu shows it. The buttermilk biscuits with mushroom gravy are beyond amazing. Try them with a cup of their coffee or a Bloody Mary- neither one will disappoint!

If brunch doesn’t quite fill you up (or you just want a sugar fix for later), walk over to Voodoo Doughnut to grab a pink box full of insanely delicious doughnuts. The bacon maple bar is a voodoo classic, but the ODB is my personal favorite. Think Oreos, peanut butter and chocolate- oh my!
Lunch

Next up on our foodie list is lunch! Visit Panzano for some tasty Italian food, or Wynkoop Brewing if you want something a little more casual. Either one is a great stop on your food tour. If you want to catch a Rockie’s game they’re also close to Coors Field. Speaking of a foodie tour, Coors Field has stepped up it’s game (pun intended) for food this year. They’re now offering “frose” (frozen rose) and a pretzel charcuterie board! Run around the ball park a few times because dinner is still to come.
Dinner

Your last foodie stop of the day is so good. Bar Dough has a menu filled with creative small plates (the brussels sprouts are to die for), pizza, and pastas (try the squid ink tagliarini!) Finish your meal with a house made limoncello.
After all these tasty spots today, your next stop will most likely be home to fall asleep with dreams of yummy food in your head.
