I woke up the morning of March 22nd with an energy I haven’t had since– well, since at least before I had a toddler in the house! The day had finally arrived that I was going to meet with
my OUR new community; I was going to spend the morning with our Denver Metro Moms Blog {DMMB} Contributor Team! This was the group of women I had hoped for since the day I decided to embark on this adventure.
I managed to dress and get out of the house with a smooch from the husband, a messy kiss from my 14 month old, and absolutely NO sticky fingerprints on my clothes! Heading to BookBar, reminding myself not to speed, I felt incredibly thankful, and NERVOUS about our official kickoff. Truth be told, I was mostly super nervous about the head shots that Liz Fendell Photography was taking of the team. For the greater part of the last 14 months, I have been the one behind the camera, I have been the one capturing my son’s moments– usually thankful to not have whatever the day’s outfit and hair looked like captured in a forever memory.
We. Had. The. BEST. Time.
I mean, when did you last see a large group of moms together on a gorgeous Sunday morning, spending time together in a fabulous local neighborhood, having professional photos taken, and then chatting and eating cookies in a local bookshop?! Okay, fine, maybe this is the amazing wonderland that some of you luckies live in– but I don’t often get the opportunity to really engage with other moms, outside of hurried hellos in the hallways of my son’s school.
The atmosphere at BookBar was so warm and inviting, we all just felt at home {and fell in love with this lovely shop}. Southern Sugar Desserts had provided us with the most DELICIOUS and absolutely beautiful cookies, decorated with the DMMB logo and colors. We mingled and chatted about DMMB, our kiddos, and what we will all bring to the Denver Metro Moms Blog.
From the moment we all met, our diverse group of moms just clicked. We shared laughs, commiserated over the highs and lows of mommyhood, and of course went over the general business of this community of moms we’re building in the Denver metro area. I am so encouraged and excited to have this group of women as the DMMB Contributor Team— a group committed to encouraging, respecting, connecting, and sharing with other moms.
We had a wonderful morning getting to know each other, and can’t wait to get to know all of you! Thanks for being a part of our community, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
