Best Friend Dates | Denver Metro Moms Blog

With my “Love letter to my Mommy Friends” on the brain, let’s talk about friend dates, because why not take your best girlfriend on a date? If you’re anything like me, it’s time to change up the usual happy hour or coffee date with something new, fun, or dare I say, adventurous!

I share with you a few ideas for a fabulously fun date with the bestie…

Go to the movies – outdoors!

Pack a picnic and bottle of wine and take your best friend watch a throwback movie like Grease. Bonus – many of these events are free! Check here for a list of locations and listings.

Get your crafting on at Upstairs Circus

Now, this is not the crafting of the hot gluing brightly colored pompoms variety. Put away your kid’s crayons and enjoy an afternoon or evening with your best friend and some serious adult crafting. Envision using real tools and serious crafting skills to create home decor items you’ll want to hang on your walls or create jewelry you’ll actually wear – no dried noodle necklaces here. No previous skills needed, as they have step-by-step instructions. The bartender doubles as your crafting attendant!

Have drinks at the spa

Treat your toes to a little pampering alongside your bestie, while also enjoying a glass of wine or cocktail – because who doesn’t think a little bubbly and a great new shade of polish alongside your best friend sounds AMAZING?! Check out Cherry Creek Beauty Bar or Refresh Beauty Bar.

Enjoy a cooking class together

Learn to bake artisan bread or how to make Spanish tapas and paella with Stir Cooking School. Their small, colorful, fun kitchen will bring the chef out in you. Another great cooking school to check out is Cook Street School of Culinary Arts – they have a selection of classes, sure to please!

Paddle boarding at Chatfield Reservoir

A girlfriend of mine is always inspiring me with her adventurous spirit and now she’s got me wanting to go paddle boarding. Rentals and lessons are available through 5280 Paddle Sports.

Afternoon tea

More extravagant than just a run to your local coffee shop, why not make a reservation and treat yourself and your best gal pal to the whole afternoon tea experience with tea, scones, tea cakes, and those amazing little cucumber sandwiches?! We recommend House of Commons – or The Brown Palace if you’re feeling extra fancy!

Tag your best friend & schedule a night to make it a date! Share a picture with us when you do!
