Get to know our contributor Lindsey F. a little better as she dishes on mom life in her shoes!

Meet Lindsey | Denver Metro Moms BlogKid Situation: “Two girls, Rory and Scout”

Hometown: “Dallas, Texas, where everything is bigger, especially the hair. I’ve lived in Denver for almost 4 years.”

Job Situation: “SAHM of 2 and former kindergarten teacher. I think teaching 25 five year olds was easier. How is that possible?. “

When I’m not in “mom mode” or writing contributor posts for DMMB, I enjoy. . . “I’m a big reader, but nothing too deep. I’ll take Emily Giffin and Jojo Moyes over Deepak Chopra any day. I also enjoy baking, organizing, and dreaming about where my husband and I will travel when our children are grown. ”

My tagline is . . . “It used to be ‘just do it,’ but now it’s more like, ‘there’s always tomorrow'”

I’m passionate about . . . “Good manners and wearing sunscreen.”

My favorite indulgence is . . . “Salted Oreo ice cream from Little Man Ice Cream in the Highlands!”

I never leave the house without . . . “Sunscreen (see above) and my daughter’s epipens. ”

Weirdest thing in my purse right now . . . “Diapers, a nursing cover, a change of clothes for my potty-training two-year-old, chapstick, organic lollipops, and band-aids. Oh, and sunscreen, obviously. ”

What I most love about being a mother is . . . “I love watching my children experience things for the first time, anything from a popsicle to Disney World. It’s all so new and exciting. Of course, squishy baby snuggles aren’t bad either. Basically, I love everything about being a mom except for the puke. That part’s not fun.”

On a typical Saturday . . . “Coffee, HGTV, Costco, more coffee.”

My favorite smell is . . . “A tie between pizza and newborn babies”

My spirit animal is . . . “Paula Deen’s cooking. Give me all the butter.”

My mom style is . . . “Just say yes. (Unless we’re talking mom jeans, in which case, the answer is a resounding ‘NO!’)”

My favorite things to do in the metro area are . . . “We love visiting Wash Park, going to Rockies games, and exploring the Children’s Museum.”

My most treasured material possessions are . . . “Have I mentioned how strongly I feel about sunscreen? I also have a stuffed dog from childhood that I still sleep with to this day.”

My secret to balancing it all is . . . “That’s easy…I’m not balancing it all. Most days I’m just grateful to have made it through the day.”

The title of my autobiography would be . . . “Ice Cream for Dinner”

So, there’s this strange thing about me . . . “My husband has instilled in me a fear of our garage door. He makes me wait until it is completely open before walking under it. He told me a story about one falling on someone’s head. I’m still not sure if this is true, but he got his point across. I’m also only slightly obsessed with Coach Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights. Why does he not exist in real life?
