This month, we celebrate our daughters 5th birthday. She has been talking about her birthday almost every day since, well, her birthday party last year.
We have always done our birthday parties at home and kept it simple. This year I am pregnant and have zero interest in hosting a birthday party in my home. All the planning, cleaning, and preparations has me motivated to pay to have her party elsewhere.
After doing tons of research of my own, I’ve opted for a small Build-A-Bear party, which should cap at around $160 for 6 children. I truly believe a great birthday party can be thrown on a low budget, so this list has prices that can fit different budgets. If you’re looking for a more robust list of local birthday ideas, check out our comprehensive Guide to the Best Denver Area Birthday Parties here.
Ten Great Birthday Party Venues in Denver Metro
Earth Treks Climbing and Fitness, Golden
Earth Treks is an amazing place to host a birthday party for kiddos that love to climb and do adventurous things. Participants climb to their hearts desire, with two hours of climbing, private climbing areas, and a special birthday T-shirt. Outside food, drink, and serving supplies are welcome (always a bonus)! Parties start at $250.
Lollipop Park, Centennial
Lollipop Park is BIG fun for the little crowd, such as toddlers and small children. We’ve been here a couple of times, and it is always a hit. This mini-theme park has fan favorites such as a carousel, swing ride, train ride, air bounce house, ferris wheel, and teacups. While they take reservations, “no reservations required” makes this an easy birthday party event. No deposit required. Outside cake and serving utensils allowed, but food must be purchased there. Starts at $12.95 per kid.
Ceramics in the City, Denver
Craft parties are a huge hit for art lovers! At Ceramics in the City, birthday party attendees get to paint pottery, such as an ice cream bowl, dog/cat figurine, dunk mugs, or a pencil holder. Fused glass ornaments are another fun birthday package option. Cake and food from outside establishments allowed. Parties can last up to one and a half hours! Packages start at $18 per child.
Monkey Bizness, multiple locations
This is a great place for toddlers to run, tumble, jump, and play! Lots of bounce houses and slides. I’ve attended a birthday here and I love how the rooms are private for each party. Other benefits include a separate birthday party room, where parents can bring their own food and cake. Packages start around $269.
Jumpstreet, multiple locations
Many of us have attended a birthday party or two at Jumpstreet. Jumpstreet is one of those great places you can take your kid for an hour and bring them home completely tuckered out. It is bright, loud, chaotic, and pure bliss for kids with high energy. Packages start out at $5 per kid and move up to $20 per kid, depending on age.
Bladium Denver, Stapleton
Bladium in Stapleton is a sports facility that is a great place to host a birthday party. Hands on staff help set up and tear down the party. Outside food and drinks are allowed. There are tons of birthday party package options to choose from: basketball, soccer, inflatable fun zone, flag football, NERF, and more! Packages start at $295.

Music Together Mile High Music, Denver
For kids who love music, Mile High Music is a fantastic option! Music parties are perfect for babies and toddlers, and feature instruments and hands-on musical play. Parties include 2 hours of party time, a 30 minute music party, including dancing and instruments, and a music teacher to host the party. Packages start at $200 and can be held at may of the music studios.
Chuck E Cheese’s, multiple locations
A Chuck E Cheese’s birthday party is a rite of passage for many kids. While the adults don’t always love this idea, kids LOVE this place. We’ve attended a birthday here and my daughter couldn’t stop talking about it for weeks. Plus, it is a super easy option for parents who want minimal planning and zero cleanup. Packages start at $14.99 per kid.
Looking for a cheap or free locations? Check out your local parks, pools, and rec centers for amazing birthday party venues. Never underestimate the power to throw an amazing birthday party on a low budget. I’ve done it several times. Thankfully we live in a city with beautiful parks and amazing rec centers. All it takes is a little creativity and preparation!
At the end of the day, children love being celebrated and acknowledged. Being surrounded by loved ones and singing Happy Birthday costs almost nothing (especially if you bake the cake!), and can be done anywhere.
