We are THRILLED to introduce you to one of our very newest contributors, Kelly! We can’t wait for you to get to know this awesome, NATIVE, foodie, mom of two, who is such a great addition to our team!
Kid situation?: An extremely verbal almost 3 year old girl & fearlessly climbing 10 month old baby boy
Job situation?: I’m SAHM & part-time consultant with Beautycounter.
Native? Or “Not so Native”?: Proud NATIVE! Yes, we do exist!
What are your passions?: Food and wine. Health and wellness.
When you’re not in full on mom mode, what do you enjoy doing?: I am a self-described foodie and dining out enthusiast. I enjoy hosting parties while grazing over good food and drinking good wine. I love to work out – at the actual gym (yes, despite living in beautiful Colorado). When naptime permits, I enjoy reading for pleasure and reading with a purpose – ie toddlerhood survival books. I crave adult conversation and relationships, thus spend a fair amount of time connecting within the world of mommy groups.
What’s your tagline or mantra?: Everything happens for a reason, just believe.
Any indulgences?: Ice cream.
What’s the one thing you NEVER leave the house without?: Baby wipes. They hold within them a superpower that remedies nearly any catastrophe in the life of a mama.
Describe your mom style: Does the fact that I have no idea how to answer this mean I don’t have a style? Maybe it’s time I hone in on this one.
What’s the strangest thing in your purse?: My Girl Scouting years taught me to ‘always be prepared’. I have a little of everything — lotion, diapers, change of clothes, extra toys, kleenex, lip balm, sunscreen, thermometer (in case of an emergency), and snacks (to ward off an emergency).
What do you most love about being a mother?: Sleepy cuddles * mispronounced words * slobbery kisses * toddler conversations * learning I have more to give than I ever thought possible
What is your favorite smell?: The smell of any bread or pastry baking in my oven
What is your most treasured material possession? My phone. As much as I wish it weren’t true, I’m attached to my phone. I’m a better parent for it. I regularly FaceTime my sister as backup in tantrum mitigation
Any strange or funny fears?: I cannot handle sand. There’s a reason I don’t live at the beach. I’d pick the mountains over the beach any day. I’ve been known to avoid certain parks because of a sandbox. Even the thought of having one in my backyard would drive me mad. Sand gets EVERYWHERE!
What’s your secret to balancing it all?: Haha. That’s a good one!
I hate sand, too!! And chalk! π
I’m glad I am not the only one Susan! π
